• Her mother sacrificed herself for Mirai's safety and her body (it's unclear whether it's cremated or otherwise) was used in the creation of a small, gold ring that Mirai wears to seal her cursed blood in her little finger.
• Orphaned, Mirai was adopted into the Inami family where she was treated with some disdain: she's shown in a very meger room with little in the way of toys or decoration.
• She bonded with the middle daughter: Yui Inami and they became friends.
• Yui was possessed and became a threat to Mirai.

• Mirai moved to a small, one-person apartment in the city Nagatsuki.
• Mirai encountered Akihito for the first time and tried to kill him. She failed and found out he was immortal.
• Whilst continually trying to kill Akihito, the two come across a youmu and together they destroyed it.
• The city of Nagatsuki was invaded by a very powerful demon that Mirai tried to defeat, in the process she was attacked by Sakura Inami, Yui's younger sister seeking revenge.
• Mirai and Akihito were absorbed by the powerful youmu and experienced intense and traumatic hallucinations before defeating it.
• After defeating the powerful youmu Akihito was infected by its power and his aggressive, youmu side surfaced attacking everyone in the area.
• Mirai stopped Akihito with the help of three other spirit warriors.
• Sakura attacked Mirai again and Mirai defeated her whilst protecting her from a different youmu.
• Izumi Nase weakened Akihito and brought out his youmu side again.
• Izumi tells Mirai that the only way to save Akihito without killing him is to absorb his youmu side into herself.
• Having developed feelings for Akihito she proceeds with this plan and sacrificed herself to free Akihito.
• Akihito awakened from a three month coma as a mortal human. He proceeded to find Mirai after her sacrifice in an alternate dimension that was created by Akihito's powerful, youmu side.
• Akihito aids Mirai in finally defeating his youmu side but she disappeared on its defeat. Before she completely disappeared she confesses her love to him.
• One year later Mirai miraculously came back from the dead but without any memories.
• Her friends and Akihito hid the truth from her and she tried to lead a normal life.
• She was attacked by a cloaked figure trying to force her to remember her past. When he life was threatened she defended herself using powers she didn't recall or understand.
• A very powerful youmu possessed her and uses her abilties to try and destroy the world.
• Her attacks are stopped when Akihito is pulled into an illusion that shows the two of them Mirai's difficult past. The youmu that possessed her brings out the fear and hate in her to make her fight, when Akihito confessed his love for her, the will to fight stopped.
• The two returned and lived as normal a life as they could.
• On a very average day, Mirai confessed her love to Akihito.

I write the character Mirai Kuriyama from the anime Beyond the Boundary. I have watched both the series and television movies and try to accurately represent her character.
